Nem vár senki:
a kapuból hiányzol,
a kertből hiányzol,
a házból hiányzol,
gyászol
minden almafa,
gyászol,
reszket a ribiszkebokor
érted:
nem érintheti
kötényed,
térded,
sírvafakadnak
a szőlőtőkék,
zokog a lugas,
bár nincs eső rég,
pereg a könnye
a körtefának,
szakad a könnye
a szilvafának,
csak én állok itt,
akár az állat,
nyüszítek érted,
kikaparnálak,
de csak vakogok:
és várlak,
várlak.

No one awaits you: you're missing
from the doorway,
the garden,
the house,
all apple trees
are mourning you,
mourning,
aquiver is the currant bush
for you:
it cannot touch
your apron,
your knee,
grape stocks
burst into tears,
the arbour weeps
although there's been no rain,
the pear tree’s
shedding tears,
the plum tree's
teardrops drop
and only I stand here,
beast-like,
whining for you,
would scratch you up,
but am just barking:
and waiting,
waiting.
