Ha elmész,

az a te dolgod.

De nem miattad

sír majd a szél,

a tulipánok

nem miattad csukják be

szirmaikat.

Nélküled maradok

és kicsépelem

termésem maradékát.

Ha éhes leszel,

szállj ablakom párkányára,

tiszta búza lesz ott,

s én jó étvágyat kívánok hozzá.

It will be up to you

if you leave.

But the wind

will not be crying,

the tulips

will not be closing their petals

because of you.

I'll be without you

and I will thresh

the remnant of my crop.

When next you're hungry,

fly onto my windowsill,

there will be clean wheat there,

so do enjoy it please.
