Schwarcz Blanka (Hungarian)

Schwarcz Blanka nagyobbik fia
kivándorolt Palesztinába. Lánya, Lea
férjhez ment Amerikába,
de Ő,Schwarcz Blanka a konyhában
citrompótlós plantateával,
libazsírral a bödön alján,
az asztalon barna kenyérrel
(tesz-vesz minden nap)
ki-kileskel a lefüggönyzött
évek mögül a kapualjba,
föl-föltekint a világító-
udvarnyi ég pici kékjébe,
az Ő utolsó lakhelyének
e-világi vakudvarába,
kiáll a küszöb elé tett
jól kicsavart felmosórongyra,
föl-föltörli a piros gangot,
ki ha megjön, tisztára lépjen.
Ő a gettót nem hagyja el, míg
kisebbik fia meg nem érkezik -
azóta sem ...

Blanka Schwarcz (English)

The older son of Blanka Schwarcz
emigrated to Palestine. Her daughter, Lea,
married in America,
but she, Blanka Schwarcz in the kitchen,
with mock-lemon-flavoured bramble tea,
some goose fat at the bottom of the firkin,
brown bread on the table,
(potters about daily)
still keeps peering out from behind
the curtained years, onto the doorway
looks up from time to time at the
light-well-sized tiny blue sky
of Her this-worldly final address's
ventilating yard,
steps out onto the well wringed-out floor rag
placed by the threshold,
wipes the red passage from time to time,
so when he comes, he will step on a clean floor.
She won't leave the ghetto
till her younger son arrives -
not since then…
