El kellene indulni
meztelen talppal mintha
meg-megvonagló bársonyon
s a tó közepén alábukni –
érinteni lágyan
az idő-kőzeteket,
ős-kráter alján
kitapintani a labdát,
játéklapátkát,
egy törött napszemüveg
cserepeit.
Mintha saját gyermekkezed
vezetne, lépkedsz
emlékről emlékre
egy rég elsüllyedt nyárban
s a roppant tömeg fölötted
kikapcsolja a hangokat.

One ought to go
barefoot, as if
on velvet convulsing underfoot,
and dive at the middle of the lake…
touch tenderly
the layered rocks of time,
feel for a ball,
a toy-spade,
shards of
a broken pair of sunglasses
within the ancient crater.
It is as if your own child-hand
would guide you, you stride
from memory to memory
in a summer sunk long ago
and the multitude above you
had switched off the sound.
