Hajnal Éva: Brief verse (Rövid in English)

Portre of Hajnal Éva
Portre of Kery, Leslie A.

Back to the translator

Rövid (Hungarian)

Fuvallat ficánkol a fákon,
fűszálon szellő hempereg,
mellényke sincs már a madáron
eltűnt mi zord, most szendereg.

 Nap gördül nevetéságyon,
letérdelt sok-sok gondolat,
fűben megbúvó kamasz magányon
játszik most minden árnyalat.

Brief verse (English)

A waft frolics upon the trees,
a breeze rills on a grassy glade,
vests off the birds now if you please,
and slumbers all what grimness made.

Sun rolls on laughter-bed forsooth,
many a thought is on its knees,
all hues at play on lonely youth
which hides in grass among the trees.
