Az ifjú Villon (Hungarian)

Számomra nincsen Más-világ,
Itt e földön élem életem.
Rongyosan, mocskosan, bolhásan,
Kitárva két kezem
Bűneimért esedezve
Édes Istenem!

Emeld fel fejem a sárból
Ha hóhér csapta le.
Mutasd fel szívemet a népnek
Miért is dobogott.

De ha élni hagysz,
Adj kezembe vándorbotot,
Menjek szabadon arra
Hol a Hold elfogyott.

The young Villon (English)

For me there is no Other-world,
Here on this earth I live my life
Ragged and dirty, flee infested,
With two arms opened wide
Begging forgiveness for my sins
Dear God, Lord of mine!

Lift up my head from the mud
If an axeman chopped it off
Hold my heart, display it to the throng
Why ever was it beating so.

But if you let me live,
Hand me a wanderer's staff to go
Freely to where the moon's eclipsed,
Where it has ceased to glow.
