s verseinket mint napi pletykát
viszik világvárosokon át
hát belefúrjuk magunk a földbe
röggé virágzunk csonttá fehérlünk
műanyagkoszorús gyászvitézek
szájába nem adunk dumát
harangok lelke nem malaszt
nem harisnyakötő tucatáru
fejünk a földgolyó maga
nem nyálazzák be tengerünket
kétéltű luxusutazók
rácsok mögött méltósággal
járunk ha kell káromkodunk
de nem árverezzük el a világot
bőrkabátosokkal nem alkuszunk
virágok kelyhébe nem köpünk
nem súgjuk be halottainkat

because our drowning is newsworthy
and our poems are heralded like
gossip through the big cities
we burrow ourselves underground
blossom into stumps blanch into bones
we will not be exalted on the lips
of faux-wreath-laying toy soldiers
nor eulogized by soulful bells
our heads no unkempt suspenders
they are earthly orbs indeed
our seas aren’t sullied by
swift luxury conveyances
we pace with dignity behind
bars and curse if we must
we won’t auction off this world
won’t make deals with leatherclad types
won’t spit into flower pots
won’t rat out our dead
