Hotel Faustus (Hungarian)
Sétáltunk volna a Várban, szemközt a pesti oldal.
Én most lépek be az imaginárius térbe, szellemem pásztázva keresi szellemed.
Hotel Faustus (English)
When you asked, if I was
happy, I didn’t know
why this question was important.
We would have walked by the Castle
with Pest-side across the way.
I called you, but your number
did not answer, your body was leaving
impressions on a hospital bed.
You could have been my wife,
you could have given birth to a child,
but that's not what happen, much like
the way we’d not acquired fame.
Since then, each day's like thousands, I imagine
you by your machine, barefoot, in pyjamas,
on your chair. You'd bathed already, your hair
wrapped in a towel.
I am now stretching my imagination,
my spirit's playfully searching for yours.
In those days I walked around with a knife, police
and demonstrating crowds were on the streets.
I know, it could have been different,
we could have opened a gate on time,
whilst the city slept beneath us,
with our clothes weaving into nets.
And the Danube was asleep as well.
