Dickinson, Emily: Kocsim éjjel ha fut 10 (My wheel is in the dark! 10 in Hungarian)

Portre of Dickinson, Emily

Back to the translator

My wheel is in the dark! 10 (English)

My wheel is in the dark!
I cannot see a spoke
Yet know its dripping feet
Go round and round.

My foot is on the Tide!
An unfrequented road —
Yet have all roads
A clearing at the end —

Some have resigned the Loom —
Some in the busy tomb
Find quaint employ —

Some with new — stately feet —
Pass royal through the gate —
Flinging the problem back
At you and I!

Kocsim éjjel ha fut 10 (Hungarian)

Kocsim éjjel ha fut
Küllőt nem látok én
De csöpög az a láb
S tudom hogy körbe jár

Lábam alatt az ár --
Nem mindennapi út --
De minden út --
Ez is -- tisztásra ér

Van aki abbahagy --
Van aki föld alatt
Kap egy állást

Van, hogy egy dicső láb
Királyi kapun át
Lép, s talányt visszadob
Reád és rám
